The Stabbing & Un-stabbing Unit features a trolley with clamp to stab or un-stab the sealing tool over the drill pipe which is held by simple V-clamps- in either rends pending stabbing or un-stabbing. All clamps are manual operated and closed and opened.
The unit is built in a modified offshore transport basket according to DNVGL-ST-E271:2017. The basket has customized length and a low shoulder v-entry in one end with lifting pad eyes at top corners and lifting sling. The v-entry allow the tools to be stabbed onto or un-stabbed on longer lengths of drill pipes by sticking one end out.
The trolley can be run at a set speed. Low speed is giving good control and possibilities for positioning of the trolley and maintain safety while driving and performing. However, this is not a proportional speed increase/decrease function.
The one-speed solution is obtained by using normal electrical motors without any frequency converters and is controlled by normal motor starters and contactors.
A control panel is located “on the top railing” in one end of the basket while the main electrical enclosure is located inside the basket facing one short end. A simple hatch or cover allows easy access to electrical enclosure from outside for service and inspections.
Control system/starter cabinet in standard Ex d/e cabinet. Control panel with the following functions:
Emergency stop button with protection cover in basket opposite end of control panel. End stops on end travels.
